What is "SkyDrive"?

SkyDrive is a Drive-in Airshow experience – like a drive-in movie only it’s an Airshow instead!

  • Each vehicle will have an individual 20’ x 20’ space to park in and watch the Airshow from beside their vehicle.
  • Attendees will be required to remain in their 20’ x 20’ space, except to use the washrooms
  • There will be no static display aircraft, food trucks or ground attractions

When is SkyDrive?

SkyDrive will take place August 6, 7 & 8

  • There will be 4 separate SkyDrive performances:
    • Friday, August 6 – 6:00PM – 9:30PM
    • Saturday, August 7 – 11:00AM – 2:00PM
    • Saturday, August 7 – 6:00PM – 9:30PM
    • Sunday, August 8 – 11:00AM – 2:30PM
  • Gates will open at 9:30AM for Daytime performances – last entry at 12:00PM (Noon)
  • Gates will open at 4:30PM for Evening performances – last entry at 7:00PM

TICKETS: How do SkyDrive tickets work?

IMPORTANT: THIS EVENT IS PRE-SALE ONLY – NO ONSITE TICKET SALES WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE GATE

Tickets can be purchased in advance online.

  • All tickets are “Carload” passes: valid for 1 vehicle and a maximum of 6 people (any age)
    • Motorcycles are permitted – up to 3 per spot (maximum 6 people). All motorcycles sharing a ticket must arrive together. 
    • No Oversize Vehicles are permitted. Please see “VEHICLE SIZES” below.
  • SkyDrive features 4 different ticketing zones: 
    • Premium Front Row: Row 1 along the front showline. Premium Front Row tickets also include access to the VIP event entrance.
    • Blue Zone (Rows 2-4) offers up close viewing from the traditional premium seating area.
    • Green Zone (Rows 5-11) offers great viewing from the traditional festival area.
    • Red Zone (Rows 12-22) offers affordable viewing from just behind our traditional festival area.

  • All SkyDrive ticket purchases are final sales, with no refunds or exchanges.
  • Tickets are accepted in print or electronic format for scanning
  • Tickets are limited, so purchase early!

VEHICLES: What vehicles sizes are allowed into SkyDrive?

Due to vehicle spacing requirements, the following vehicle size limits will be strictly enforced.

  • No Oversized Vehicles or Trailers are permitted. 
  • Oversized vehicles include any vehicle that is a: RV/Motorhome, shuttle or passenger van, 6-wheeled truck, lifted truck, or any other vehicle exceeding 19 feet in length or 8 feet in height.
  • Minivans, SUVs, and non-lifted pickup trucks are considered regular size unless they exceed 19 feet in length or 8 feet in height.
  • Please kindly remove any hitch balls/extensions, roof rack containers (eg. Thule) bike racks, etc.
  • Motorcycles are permitted – up to 3 per spot (maximum 6 people). All motorcycles sharing a ticket must arrive together. 

PARKING: How do SkyDrive parking sites work?

  • Each vehicle will be directed to park in their own individual 20’ x 20’ space.
  • Guests may enjoy the show from inside their vehicles or sit on lawn chairs/blankets beside their vehicle safely distanced from others.
  • Behind each row of vehicles is a 25-foot lane on which guests walk to portable washrooms in their zone.
  • You will be directed to a designated spot within your zone upon arrival. There are no reserved spots and arriving early does not guarantee a premium or preferred spot.
  • Some sites are located on hard-packed grass. Some sites are located on pavement.
  • Due to social distancing guidelines, attendees are not permitted to sit on top of their vehicle, including in the bed of pickup trucks.

PARKING: Can I park with others I know?

No. In order to facilitate an efficient event entry process, we cannot arrange to park specific cars beside one another. 

  • Arriving at the same time does not guarantee you will be parked beside one another.
  • Spots may not be reserved before or at the event.

WASHROOMS: Will there be Washrooms at SkyDrive?

Yes. Portable washrooms will be available. 

  • Portable washrooms will be aligned with each zone/row and attendees will be required to use the washroom in their zone/row. 
  • Portable washrooms will be cleaned/sanitized throughout the event and sanitizer will be located in all portable washrooms for your convenience and safety.

FOOD & DRINKS: What about Food & Drinks?

There will be NO onsite food vendors, so guests are encouraged to bring their own food and NON-ALCOHOLIC beverages.

  • Alcohol is strictly prohibited. Anyone found in possession of alcohol or arriving intoxicated persons will not be allowed to enter the event or will be escorted from the event without a refund.
  • Cooking equipment such as Grills and BBQ’s, regardless of size are NOT permitted. 
  • Glass is prohibited due to safety concerns.

Please help us keep the airport clean and safe by taking all garbage and recycling with you when you leave the event.

GETTING HERE: How do I get to SkyDrive?

IMPORTANT: Unlike previous Airshows, SkyDrive entrance gates will be dedicated to specific parking zones.

  • Ticketholders will be sent specific driving directions to the event based on their parking zone.
  • It is important that attendees follow the event driving directions as each parking zone has a specific event entry gate.
  • Attendees who arrive at the wrong entry gate will be denied entry and instructed to follow the driving directions to their correct gate.
  • Do NOT follow vehicle GPS directions to the Airport or Airshow addresses found online.

WALK-INS/CYCLISTS: Can I attend SkyDrive without a vehicle?

Unfortunately due to safety concerns and the conditions of our event’s public health approval, we are unable to accept walk-in patrons and cyclists.

WHAT TO BRING: What should I bring to SkyDrive?

  • Portable chairs and blankets to sit on beside your vehicle
  • Food and NON-ALCOHOLIC beverages (no BBQs, no glass containers)
  • Portable radios to stream the show’s FM broadcast (recommended to avoid draining vehicle batteries – no idling will be permitted).
  • Low-level sun-shelters for children or small umbrellas are permitted as long as they are anchored and do not create a visual obstruction for others. 
  • Lots of water
  • Sunscreen, Hats and sunglasses
  • Earplugs – parents, please ensure your children have hearing protection

PROHIBITED ITEMS: What shouldn't I bring to SkyDrive?

IMPORTANT: All attendees, vehicles and possessions are subject to search upon entry to the event. The Airshow reserves the right to deny admission or eject without refund any attendee found in possession of restricted items or disobeying event restrictions.

  • No Alcohol is allowed. Intoxicated persons will not be allowed to enter the event or escorted from the event without a refund.
  • No Weapons of any kind are allowed.
  • No Drones, RC aircraft or other flying devices are allowed and are prohibited by law. Violators could be subject to fines and/or jail time.
  • No Smoking/Vaping (including cannabis) anywhere on airport property.
  • No BBQs or cooking equipment of any kind.
  • No Fires or flames of any kind (including propane fire bowls)
  • No Pets, except service animals (proof of accreditation required)
  • No Bicycles are allowed
  • Tents and umbrellas must not obstruct the view of other patrons. No pop-up tents 8×8 or larger permitted.
  • Attendees who move outside of their designated 20 x 20 (other than for the washrooms) may be evicted from the event.
  • Only vehicles will be permitted into the event. No walk-ons on bicycles are permitted.

PERFORMERS: Who will be Performing at SkyDrive?

SkyDrive will feature the US Air Force F-22 Raptor Demo Team, the Canadian Forces Snowbirds celebrating their 50th season, the RCAF CF-18 Demo Team, and many more. 

  • Performers will be added to the PERFORMERS page as they are confirmed.
  • Most performers will perform during Friday and Sunday shows. 
  • NOTE: Due to military restrictions, the following performers will NOT appear in both Saturday performances
    • The USAF F-22 Raptor and CF-18 Hornet will NOT perform during the Saturday Daytime performance
    • The Snowbirds will NOT perform during the Saturday Evening performance

STATIC DISPLAY: Will there be static display aircraft at SkyDrive?

For health & safety reasons, there will be no ground attractions or Static Display aircraft at this year’s event.

2020 TICKETS: I have 2020 Airshow tickets, what should I do?

Please note that 2020 Abbotsford Airshow tickets will NOT be accepted at the SkyDrive gates.

  • 2020 ticket holders will receive a credit for their 2020 Airshow tickets that may be used towards 2021 SkyDrive tickets or kept for use at the 2022 Airshow.
  • All 2020 ticket holders received an email to the address they used to purchase tickets with instructions on how to access and use their credit.
  • Any unused 2020 ticket credit will be carried over for use at the 2022 Airshow.
  • If you have issues accessing your 2020 ticket credit, please contact Ticketops at help@ticketops.com for assistance.

TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS: Will the Border be open?

  • Unfortunately we do not have any insight into the future status of border or travel restrictions. 
  • We recommend all guests confirm that they will be able to travel to our event prior to purchasing tickets.
  • SkyDrive ticket purchases are final sales, and will not be refunded or credited due to travel restrictions.

CAMPING: Can I camp at the Airshow this year?

Unfortunately due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Airshow Campground will not be available in 2021.

ACCESSIBILITY: Is SkyDrive accessible for persons with physical disabilities?

The SkyDrive parking area consists mostly of hard packed ground and some concrete. It is accessible for wheelchairs; however, the ground is uneven in many areas, so caution and assistance is advised.

WEATHER: What if it rains?

  • The Airshow has never had to cancel an entire show day, however certain flying events could be modified or canceled for safety reasons related to inclement weather.
  • If an entire show were to be canceled, Airshow staff would make this decision before the show starts and publicize the cancellation via our social media platforms, along with subsequent instructions for ticket holders.
  • Please note that Airshow tickets are not refundable based on some acts being modified or cancelled.

MILITARY: Are active and retired military members free?

  • Unfortunately due to the limited event capacity of SkyDrive, we are unable to offer complimentary tickets to active and retired military in 2021 as we usually do.
